General Questions
What is HasAGuy?
HasAGuy is a web-based platform that connects local businesses with community organizations and their members. We help businesses reach new customers within their local communities, while providing community groups with a way to support local businesses and offer exclusive discounts to their members.
Is HasAGuy free to use?
Yes. Creating an account, joining community groups and accessing group discounts is completely free for members.
Businesses can create a free listing that appears in search and can affiliate with up to 3 community groups. Optional paid plans add more group affiliations, more active discounts, featured search placement, analytics and promotional tools — see our plans. Nothing is charged today; plans are enabled by request.
Where is HasAGuy available?
HasAGuy is currently launching community by community. Search the business directory to see whether businesses are listed in your town yet — we add new areas as local groups join.

For Businesses
How do I list my business on HasAGuy?
Create an account and click "List Your Business" from the navigation or your dashboard. Fill in your business details — name, address, contact information and description — then add your hours, category and photos. Submitted listings are reviewed before they appear publicly, usually within 1-2 business days.
What is the difference between a free and paid business listing?
Free business listings include:
- Basic business profile
- Appear in search results
- Ability to affiliate with up to 3 community groups
- 1 active discount
Paid listings add:
- More group affiliations (up to unlimited on Elite)
- More active discounts at once
- Featured placement in search results (Professional and Elite)
- Advanced business analytics
- Promotional tools and marketing materials (Elite)
How do I affiliate my business with community groups?
From your business's manage page, use the Community Group Affiliations panel to send a request to a group. Group administrators review requests and approve or decline them. Once approved, the affiliation is live and you can offer that group's members exclusive discounts.
How do I create and manage discounts for community groups?
Open your business's manage page and use the "Create a Discount" form. Give it a title, an optional code, a type, a value and optional start/end dates. You can limit a discount to specific affiliated groups or leave it open to all members, set usage limits, and edit or deactivate it at any time.
Community Groups
How do I create a community group?
Log in and click "Create Group" from the navigation or your dashboard. Fill in your group's name, description, category and logo, and choose whether it is public or private. Once created you are the group administrator and can approve business affiliation requests and manage your group.
What types of community groups can be created?
HasAGuy supports a wide range of groups including schools, PTAs, sports teams, religious organizations, neighborhood associations, non-profits, professional organizations, hobby clubs and more.
How do members join my group?
Members can join directly from your group's public page. If your group is private you can set a join password that members must enter. Group administrators can also share the group link directly with their membership.
How do I affiliate my group with local businesses?
Businesses send affiliation requests to your group. As a group administrator you'll see pending requests on your dashboard and on your group's page, where you can approve or decline them.
Discounts
How do I access discounts as a group member?
Once you're a member of a community group you automatically have access to the discounts offered to that group. Visit My Discounts for your personal discount card, or browse the group's page. Each discount shows how to redeem it — usually a code to present, or simply identifying yourself as a member.
Can I get discounts from businesses not affiliated with my groups?
Discounts are exclusively available to members of community groups that have affiliations with specific businesses. To access discounts from other businesses you would need to join groups affiliated with those businesses, or encourage your current groups to establish new partnerships.
How do I redeem a discount at a business?
Discounts can be redeemed in several ways, depending on how the business set them up:
- Using the discount code at checkout
- Showing your digital discount card from My Discounts to the cashier
- Some businesses may apply the discount automatically when you identify yourself as a member of an affiliated group
Are there limits on how many times I can use a discount?
Usage limits are set by the business offering the discount. Some are one-time use, while others are unlimited or have a set number of redemptions. Any limits are shown with the discount details on your discount card.
Account & Billing
How do I update my account information?
Click your profile icon in the top right and select "Profile". From there you can edit your name and email address and change your password.
Do I have to pay to use HasAGuy?
No. HasAGuy is free to use for members, groups and businesses. Businesses may request a paid plan for additional features, but no payment is required to list a business, join groups or access member discounts.
How do I upgrade to a paid business plan?
Paid plans are currently enabled by request while we finish billing. Use the contact form with the name of your business and we'll enable the plan for you.
I forgot my password - what do I do?
Go to reset your password and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to set a new one.
