Getting Started
Creating an Account
- Click "Sign Up" in the top navigation bar.
- Enter your name, email address and a password of at least 8 characters.
- Check your inbox for a verification link and click it to confirm your address.
- You're signed in and ready to explore.
Completing Your Profile
A complete profile helps you get the most from HasAGuy:
- Keep your name and email current under Profile.
- Join the groups that reflect your community interests.
- Save your discount card for quick access at the register.
Finding Businesses
- Use the search bar to look for specific businesses or services.
- Browse by category, city or minimum rating from the Businesses page.
- Filter to businesses affiliated with your community groups to see their exclusive discounts.
For Business Owners
Listing Your Business
- Register for an account or log in.
- Click "List Your Business" from the navigation or your dashboard.
- Fill in your name, address, contact details, hours and category, then submit.
- Your listing is reviewed and, once approved, appears publicly in search.
Managing Your Listing
Every business you own has a manage page, reachable from your dashboard. From there you can edit your details, add photos, create and edit discounts, and manage your community group affiliations.
Creating Discounts
From your manage page, use "Create a Discount" to set a title, code, type and value, choose optional start and end dates, limit it to specific affiliated groups, and set usage limits. You can edit or deactivate a discount at any time.
Community Groups
Creating a Group
Log in, click "Create Group", and fill in your group's name, description, category and logo. Choose public or private — private groups can require a join password. You become the group's administrator.
Member Management
Share your group's link with your membership. Public groups can be joined directly; private groups require the join password you set. Members can leave a group at any time from the group page.
Approving Business Partnerships
When a business requests to affiliate with your group, it appears as a pending request on your dashboard and on your group's page. Approve the ones that are a good fit for your members and decline the rest.
Account & Plans
Your Account
Update your name and email, or change your password, from your profile. Forgot your password? Use password reset.
Plans
HasAGuy is free to use. Businesses can request a paid plan for more group affiliations, more simultaneous discounts, featured placement, analytics and promotional tools. Compare them on the plans page.
Plans are currently enabled by request while billing is being finalised — just get in touch.
Troubleshooting
Login Issues
- Passwords are case sensitive — check your caps lock.
- After several failed attempts your connection is paused for 15 minutes as a security measure. Wait and try again.
- Still stuck? Reset your password.
My Listing Isn't Showing
New and edited business listings are reviewed before appearing publicly. If it has been more than two business days, contact us with your business name and we'll look into it.
